Dear Starters, Your Child Is Not a Punishment

Rejecting Stigma and Standing Strong in a Misunderstood World

Dear Starters,

I know how it feels to walk through markets, schools, and neighborhoods where every stare becomes a question and every whisper feels like a verdict.

“She used the child for money,” they say.
“He is paying for his sins,” they mutter.

These words are painful, and they come from ignorance, not truth.

What they do not see are the sleepless nights, the tears you swallow so your child will not see you cry, and the prayers whispered for connection, speech, or a moment of calm. They do not see the work, the effort, and the love you pour out daily.

Your Child Is Not a Burden, Not a Curse, and Not a Punishment

Your child is not a mistake.
Your child is not a spiritual attack.
Your child is not a consequence of anything you have done.

You owe no one an explanation.

Your Child Is a Masterpiece

The God who gave you that child entrusted you with a masterpiece the world has not yet learned to understand. Autism is a different way of experiencing life, not an evil to be feared.

People often call what they do not understand “evil.” Their words reflect their lack of knowledge, not the truth about your child.

Stand Firm in Your Truth

Let your gentleness teach where their judgment fails.
Let your endurance speak where their assumptions crumble.
Let your love demonstrate what autism truly is: a unique way of being, not something to shame or hide.

One day, their ignorance will bow to your understanding.
