About us

Bethel Xafe Autism Foundation works tirelessly to create a world that not only accepts autism but celebrates it. Our work is inspired by a belief in each individual’s worth and potential and a commitment to ensuring that everyone touched by autism feels valued, supported, and empowered

Our Vision

To create a world where autism is accepted, understood, and celebrated, not feared or punished.

Our Mission

A future free of stigma, where people with autism are valued and have equal opportunities to succeed

Who we are?

Bethel Xafe Autism Foundation was established with a deep commitment to supporting individuals with autism and their families. Our mission is to create a world where autism is accepted, understood, and celebrated; where autistic individuals can thrive without fear, judgment, or misunderstanding. We recognize the challenges that autistic individuals and their families often face due to societal misconceptions that see autism as a punishment or a limitation. At Bethel Xafe Autism, we aim to transform these outdated perspectives by fostering awareness, offering support, and celebrating the unique gifts each autistic person brings to the world.

Our foundation works tirelessly to dismantle the barriers and stigma surrounding autism. Through advocacy, education, and compassionate outreach, we seek to bridge the gap between autistic individuals and society, promoting a culture that is inclusive, empathetic, and knowledgeable. By empowering families and communities, we aim to create environments where autistic individuals can grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives. Our belief is that autism is not something to be feared or “fixed”; rather, it is a special way of experiencing the world that deserves understanding and respect.

Our Founder

The BethelXafe Story

Dr. Oluwatosin Akande is a distinguished scholar, legal expert, and transformative leader whose career spans law, education, and mental health advocacy. With a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to social impact, she is a leading advocate for the rights and development of individuals with special needs.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Law from the University of East London and refined her legal expertise at Samuel & Co Solicitors, UK. However, her passion extended beyond legal frameworks to advancing equity and inclusion for individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. This commitment led her to transition into Special Education, earning a Master’s degree from Houston Baptist University. For over a decade, she has worked with children with autism and other developmental challenges, reinforcing her belief that inclusive education is a fundamental right.

Understanding the intersection of education, mental health, and leadership, Dr. Akande pursued a PhD in Executive Leadership in Mental Health and Human Resources at Houston Christian University. This advanced training equipped her with the strategic vision to drive systemic reform in mental health and special education.

As the Founder of BETHEL XAFE AUTISM FOUNDATION, Dr. Akande has spearheaded innovative programs that provide holistic support, advocacy, and intervention for individuals on the autism spectrum. Under her leadership, the foundation has become a beacon of hope, offering tailored solutions that address cognitive, emotional, and social needs. Personally overseeing the care of six autistic children, she exemplifies hands-on leadership and dedication.

Dr. Akande’s work is a testament to purpose-driven leadership, championing inclusive education, mental health awareness, and equity. She continues to redefine societal paradigms, ensuring that neurodiverse individuals are not only heard but empowered. Through her advocacy and innovation, she is not just shaping policies—she is shaping futures.
