You may not wear a cape, but make no mistake you are a hero. Every time you explain your child’s needs to a teacher, sit through another test, fight for services, or calm a storm of emotions; you are doing heroic work. And yet, I know you get weary. There are moments as an autism parent when hope feels like a thread slipping through your fingers. That’s normal. But don’t forget: your child sees your effort, even if they don’t say it. They feel your love, even if they can’t express it. You are their constant, their anchor. And even in your lowest moments, you are still rising. Let yourself feel then let yourself rest. You are building a bridge to a future that others cannot yet see. And though it’s hard, it’s holy. You’ve been entrusted with a rare kind of love. And that love is changing the world one step at a time.
